Roadside Tire Service

24/7 Roadside Tire Repair in New Castle County, Delaware

Flat, blowout, or no usable spare? A mobile tire technician comes directly to the vehicle — highway shoulder, parking lot, driveway, or job site — anywhere in New Castle County and nearby Maryland.

Roadside tire trouble does not wait for business hours, and it rarely happens somewhere convenient. When you call First Call Mobile Tire & Roadside, we send a technician and a fully equipped van to wherever the vehicle is stopped. We repair the tire where it sits when the damage allows, replace it from stock when it does not, install your spare if you have a usable one, and get you moving without a tow truck or a trip to a shop.

What's included

  • Roadside flat tire repair with interior patch-plug repairs, not temporary exterior plugs
  • Roadside tire replacement with new or inspected used tires carried in the van
  • Blowout assistance for cars, SUVs, light trucks, and work vans
  • No-spare assistance — we bring a tire rather than towing the vehicle
  • Spare tire installation when you have a safe, usable spare
  • Highway tire emergencies along I-95, I-295, Route 1, Route 13, and Route 40
  • Mounting, balancing, and torque to specification completed at the roadside

Roadside flat tire repair

Most roadside flats come from a nail, screw, or road debris in the tread. A puncture may be safely repairable when it is in the central tread area, is limited in size, and has not damaged the tire internally. We remove the tire to inspect it before recommending a mobile flat tire repair.

Damage in the shoulder or sidewall cannot be safely patched because those areas flex continuously. A tire driven while flat may also have hidden inner-liner or sidewall damage. In those cases, or when the tread is unsafe, replacement is the responsible option.

When repair is appropriate, we clean the injury and install an interior patch-plug that seals both the puncture channel and inner liner. The wheel is then rebalanced and the lug nuts are torqued before the vehicle returns to service.

Roadside tire replacement

When the tire cannot be saved, our mobile tire replacement service can bring a suitable tire directly to the stranded vehicle. We carry common new and inspected used tire sizes and confirm availability before dispatch.

Where the wheel is serviceable and the location is safe for roadside work, the technician removes the damaged tire, mounts the replacement on your wheel, balances the assembly, installs it, and torques the lug nuts to specification. That makes the replacement a completed tire service rather than a temporary way to reach a shop.

Blowout assistance

A blowout, sidewall split, exposed cords, or sidewall bubble is not a candidate for repair. The tire's structure has failed even when part of the exterior still looks intact. For urgent help after a sudden failure, our 24-hour emergency tire service can assess the tire and bring a replacement.

We also inspect the wheel and visible surrounding components because a blowout at speed can bend a rim or damage the bead seat. If the wheel cannot safely hold a replacement tire, or other vehicle damage is present, we will explain why towing or another repair is needed.

No spare? We bring the tire

Many newer vehicles carry an inflator kit instead of a spare, while other drivers discover that their spare is missing, flat, cracked, or the wrong size. Sealant and inflators cannot correct a sidewall cut, blowout, or tire that has separated from the wheel.

No usable spare does not automatically mean a tow. Send the tire size from the sidewall—or text a clear photo—and we can check available new and inspected used tires before the technician heads to your location.

Spare tire installation

If you have a safe, usable spare but cannot fit it yourself, our mobile spare tire installation service comes to the vehicle. We check the spare's condition and pressure, install it, and torque the wheel correctly.

Compact temporary spares have vehicle-specific speed and distance limits, so we will point those out before you drive. If the spare is aged, cracked, flat, or otherwise unsafe, we will not install it and can discuss a full replacement instead.

Highway tire emergencies

Highway tire trouble requires a clear location and a safe working area. If possible, move fully out of the travel lane, turn on your hazard lights, and follow instructions from police or highway personnel. Do not attempt to jack the vehicle where traffic passes close to the damaged side.

We provide roadside tire assistance along I-95 through Wilmington and Newark, I-295 near New Castle and the Delaware Memorial Bridge approaches, Route 1 through Bear, Middletown, and Townsend, Route 13 through New Castle and Odessa, and Route 40 through Bear and Glasgow toward Cecil County. When you call, provide your direction of travel and the nearest exit, cross street, or mile marker.

New and used tire delivery to the roadside

Everything we install is carried to you. New tires cover the common passenger, SUV, and light truck sizes; used tires are hand-inspected for tread depth, sidewall condition, age, and previous repairs before they go on a vehicle.

If you would rather match a specific brand or line, tell dispatch when you call and we will let you know honestly whether that is something we can bring now or something better ordered for a scheduled visit.

Roadside tire repair vs. a tow truck

A mobile tire technician may be able to solve the problem where the vehicle sits when the issue is limited to a repairable tread puncture, a damaged tire that can be replaced on a serviceable wheel, or a usable spare that needs installation. This avoids moving the vehicle solely to reach tire equipment because the mounting, balancing, and repair tools come to you.

Towing may still be necessary when the vehicle is in an unsafe working position, the wheel is bent or cracked, lug or hub damage prevents safe removal, the suspension or brakes are damaged, multiple tires or wheels require equipment not available roadside, or the vehicle has another mechanical problem. We assess the tire and visible wheel condition and will tell you when a tow is the safer next step.

Common questions

Can you repair a flat tire on the side of the road?

Often, yes. A puncture in the repairable tread area may be fixed after the tire is removed and inspected. Sidewall, shoulder, blowout, or run-flat damage normally requires replacement.

Can you bring me a replacement tire?

Yes. Share the tire size or text us a sidewall photo. We can confirm availability, bring a new or inspected used tire, and mount and balance it where the vehicle is stopped when conditions allow.

What if I do not have a spare?

A missing or unusable spare does not automatically mean a tow. If the wheel is serviceable and your tire size is available, we can bring and install a replacement tire at your location.

Can you replace a blown tire roadside?

Usually, provided the wheel and nearby components are not damaged and the vehicle is in a safe working location. Blowouts are not repairable, so the tire must be replaced.

Do you provide roadside tire service at night?

Yes. Roadside tire dispatch is available 24 hours a day, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Call with your location and tire details so we can confirm the service needed.

What information should I have ready when I call?

Have your exact location, direction of travel, nearest exit or mile marker, vehicle year and model, tire size, and whether you have a usable spare. A sidewall photo is helpful.

What areas do you cover?

We cover New Castle County and Kent County, Delaware, plus Cecil County, Maryland. This includes Wilmington, Newark, New Castle, Bear, Middletown, Claymont, Glasgow, Delaware City, Odessa, Townsend, Elkton, North East, and Chesapeake City.
