Mounting a tire and balancing a wheel are two separate jobs, and skipping the second one is why a brand new tire can still shake at 65 mph. We carry a portable tire machine and a spin balancer in the van, so both steps happen properly at your location instead of you dropping the car off and losing a day.
What's included
- Mounting for cars, trucks, SUVs, vans and trailers
- Dynamic spin balancing with correction weights on every wheel
- Adhesive weights on alloy and painted rims so nothing is visible
- Customer-supplied tires mounted and balanced
- New valve stems and TPMS handling as part of the job
- Lug nuts torqued to the manufacturer specification, never rattled on
Why balancing matters more than people expect
A tire and wheel assembly is never perfectly even. A few grams of extra weight on one side turns into a noticeable shake once the wheel is spinning around 800 times a minute. Left alone, that vibration wears the tread in patches, works on wheel bearings and tie rod ends, and makes the car feel older than it is.
Balancing corrects it by spinning the assembly on a machine, measuring exactly where the heavy spot sits, and adding small counterweights on the opposite side. It takes a few minutes per wheel and it is the difference between a smooth new tire and one you end up complaining about.
When we recommend a rebalance
Any time a tire comes off the rim — a new tire, a repair that required dismounting, or a seasonal swap — the wheel should be rebalanced before it goes back on. We also rebalance when a customer describes a highway-speed vibration that appeared after hitting a pothole, since impacts can throw a weight off the rim.
If we balance a wheel and the vibration is still there, that points at something other than balance: a bent rim, a separated belt inside the tire, or a worn suspension component. We will tell you what we see rather than adding weight until the machine reads zero.

Common questions
Can you really balance a wheel outside a shop?
Yes. We carry a portable balancer and spin each wheel off the vehicle exactly the way a shop does, then add the correction weights before the wheel goes back on. The job is the same; the building is the only thing missing.
I bought tires elsewhere — will you mount them?
Yes. Customer-supplied tires are a large share of this work. Have the tires with you at the service location and we will mount, balance and torque them.
How do I know a wheel is out of balance?
A steering wheel that shakes at highway speed and settles down when you slow below about 45 mph is the classic sign. A vibration you feel in the seat instead of the wheel usually points to a rear wheel.
Do you use stick-on weights on alloy wheels?
Yes. Clip-on weights mark alloy and painted rims, so we use adhesive weights on the inner barrel where they are not visible.
